Hugo

I am a certified music therapist and multidisciplinary sound practitioner, devoted to the art of listening. Through sound, I support healing and transformation.

Hugo in the ocean

My relationship with sound did not begin in a studio or a conservatory, but in the forests of Burgundy in France, alongside my grandfather. We would go out to listen to animals, standing still and attentive, as if nature itself were a living orchestra.

Years later, while working as a sound engineer surrounded by synthesizers and studio gear, a walk in those same forests brought me back to that simple act of listening. I sold all my equipment, bought microphones, and began recording the sounds of the natural world. Since then, nature has become my studio.

I love silence, the sound that makes no noise.

Natural soundscapes gradually became the heart of my work, both as an artist and as a therapist. This exploration led me to study music therapy at the University of Medicine of Nantes, where I wrote a thesis on the therapeutic use of natural soundscapes in neurological conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.

Alongside my clinical training, I also studied acoustic neuroscience, which allows me to understand how the brain responds to sound and specific frequencies.

This path has led me to practice in diverse therapeutic environments, from hospitals and private practice to immersive retreats, accompanying individuals and groups through emotional, physical, and neurological challenges.

Over time, I have developed a refined quality of listening, a strong creative intuition, and a deep knowledge of sound, enabling me to design personalized sound experiences that support meaningful and empowering transformation.

What we are looking for is what is looking.

Today, based between France and Bali, I continue to explore what listening can truly reveal. Each session, each recording, each experience is an invitation to slow down, to feel, and to remember something we often forget: that we are part of a living world, and that this world is always speaking to us.
